Fairbanks
I was lucky, Peter Kamper had some clients from Switzerland who had ridden Beaver Creek, so I was able to ride with them to Fairbanks for 90 US $.
I stayed one night with Peter Kamper. The way he treats his clients is unique, his clients are extended family to him.
If any of you just want to rent equipment for your own paddling trip, Peter Kamper is a great place to go!
I was lucky, a guide from Peter Kamper took me to Fairbank
Go North, the best hostel - campground in Fairbanks - Alaska !
Clint, Robin, Me and Taka !
Clint Gray a true Native Alaskan /INUIT
I had a lot to laugh about with Clint, he's good humor personified
Robin Wilcox rode her Harley alone from Seabeck, WA to Alaska, some German women should take an example from her..
Taka from Japan lived in Mexico for the last few years, from where he traveled to Alaska, but he's also ridden his bike in Africa. A great contemporary! I wish we had more people like that in Germany, but unfortunately it's just wishful thinking .....
Two Swiss guys with a guide, (Alexander Huhle) they drive the Noatak River with him.
Many thanks to you nice Swiss guys for not sending me back my tripod that I lent you, really super nice of you ....
Conclusion of the 2011 trip
Everything really went wrong on this trip!
The Nautiraid Grand Raid 540 II was the absolute worst folding boat I have ever used on my travels!
I will no longer use folding boats from Nautiraid!
What have I learned from this?
Never trust the statements of others, check the material under the worst conditions, only if they pass this test use them on expeditions !
I broke this rule because I trusted Nautiraid's statements and had to pay bitterly for it....
Learning the hard way...
My own fault, I should have known better, from now on I will listen to my gut feeling even more!
