This question comes up many times...
I'm heading for the North Cape.
Through Finland, Norway and Sweden.
But this time not with a recumbent trike but with a recumbent quad!
but because I like the landscape up there.
I specially like the area above the Arctic Circle, it reminds me of northern Canada & Alaska, and I feel really at home in that kind of environment!

I'm going to spend the winters in the south, but I don't know exactly where yet!
Maybe in Portugal, France, Greece, Turkey or ...
The plan is to spend about 2–3 years in Europe. Then I'll see if I can get the recumbent to Canada somehow.
I want to explore more of the north and of course the Yukon & Alaska again!

How long will your journey be?
I will be on the road for many years.
The end is open
I'm saying goodbye to Germany for good, and then I'm just going to travel!
But it all depends on how fit and healthy I stay!
I'm not the youngest anymore, but I hope that recumbent cycling and the constant exercise will keep me healthy for a long time to come....

When will you start?
That depends on the care situation of my mother and my brother.
I've been caring for them since around 2018 and have been doing it very intensively for a few years now - it's a 24/7 job!
I can still handle the workload, but I notice I'm getting closer to the point where I have to realize it's affecting my own health. The constant stress has already left its marks...
I think that in about 1 to 2 years time, the point will be reached where both of them will have to go into professional care.
Eventually, I'm going to get to the point where I'm not going to be able to care for them like they deserve!
It will be a very difficult moment, but it is inevitable...
But it will also be a relief for me, because I will finally be able to take care of myself again, and I will be able to do what I want to do with my life, travel !
As long as I stay healthy myself ...
As soon as there is a guarantee that they will be well taken care of in a good nursing home, then there will be the day when I can finally travel again!
But it's going to be a nightmare to find the right nursing home!
But as I said:
That day hasn't come yet.
For now, my focus is on my mother and brother's well-being!

There is still a lot of time to take care of the conversion of my recumbent, to find the right equipment and to work out the approximate tour with all the places of interest that I would like to see along the way!
I will slowly start selling all my possessions, until I only have what I can take with me on the recumbent, in my big ZAEGES-Box, because I won't need any more in the future...
