A day with my recumbent bike
sponsor Pirol in Bautzen !

Together with my uncle I visited my recumbent trike sponsor Pirol in Bautzen.

I discussed some modifications to my Pirol Trike with Mr. Tausche & Mr. Bienert from Pirol.
These modifications were crucial for the success of my 2009 Alaska & Yukon tour!

My Pirol was fitted with a 20 inch (ca. 51 cm) rear wheel and a luggage rack & lowrider adapted to my needs!
The center of gravity moved even lower and the handling improved enormously.

The chain tensioner was removed from the primary reduction gear. The chain length compensation is now taken over by a chain tensioner behind the front axle, which gives me much more ground clearance!

The rear air damper was replaced with a spring damper. Not because it is better, but purely for safety reasons, because a spring damper always works.
With an air damper, nothing works without air ....

With these modifications, my Pirol Trike was more than optimally equipped for my Alaska & Yukon tour!
